About Luis M. Fusté
Luis M. Fusté operates FUSTE LAW, PA. A law firm in Miami specializing in criminal, labor, administrative and family law. Prior to establishing his own practice, Luis served as Assistant General Counsel for the South Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA). Luis represented law enforcement officers in all employment related issues including arbitrations, disciplinary matters, grievances, civil litigation, court appearances, sworn statements and criminal/internal investigations while at the PBA.
Luis served for 32 years as a sworn law enforcement officer with the Miami-Dade Police Department. With an estimated workforce of 4,700 individuals, MDPD ranks as the preeminent law enforcement agency in the southeastern United States and the eighth largest overall. During those years of service, he ascended through the ranks to the rank of lieutenant, completing his career as a sworn police legal advisor.
Uniform Patrol, Investigations, Gang Unit, Criminal Intelligence, Organized Crime, Street Level Narcotics, and Homeland Security were among his numerous sworn assignments. He oversaw the agency’s Forfeiture and Money Laundering Unit in his capacity as an attorney. During his tenure, Luis secured over $2 million in asset seizures handling cases from money laundering to copyright infringement. Furthermore, he advocated for MDPD at the appellate level.
For nearly four decades, Luis has devoted himself to the public good. From his service in the U.S. Marine Corps to a 32-year career with the Miami-Dade Police Department. Luis, a devoted spouse and father, is committed to spending quality time with his loving family and wife, Yuli, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
